Student Profile: This course is designed for the student who thoroughly understands the core functionality of BusinessObjects, including variable creation. You understand the basic function syntax and are responsible for creating reports with medium to high complexity.

Description: This one-day instructor-led course enhances the basic knowledge of how to build a variable by investigating how to use a wide range of functions, calculation contexts and alerts.

Prerequisites: To successfully understand the content and complete the activities, you should already have completed the following:

• BusinessObjects Core Reporting
• BusinessObjects Intermediate Reporting
• BusinessObjects Advanced Reporting
• Substantial exposure to building complex reports

Objectives: You will review how to create a variable and learn to use the UserResponse function to track answers to prompted conditions, work with date functions, including DaysBetween. You will also learn to understand calculation contexts and how to manipulate them, use variables to enhance alerters and filters and work with variables in cross-tabs.
