BusinessObjects Enterprise XI: Users & Content

Student Profile: This course is designed for system administrators who are new to BusinessObjects Enterprise and will be responsible for maintaining BusinessObjects Enterprise users, groups, and objects in their organization.

Description: This 2-day instructor-led classroom course explains how to perform the tasks involved in supporting BusinessObjects Enterprise users and groups so they can access corporate data through BusinessObjects Enterprise's web portal.  This corporate data can take the form of Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence or OLAP Intelligence files, program objects, object packages, and popular 3rd party objects such as Microsoft Word and Excel files, among others.  These tasks are explained through instructor demonstration and hands-on activities. Please note this course does not discuss maintaining BusinessObjects Enterprise servers, which is taught in the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI: Administering Servers course.

This course provides a foundation for System Administrators to effectively manage both users and content on the BusinessObjects Enterprise platform.

Prerequisites: To be successful, learners must have working knowledge of:

  • NT Enterprise security concepts (global & local groups and directory structure)
  • Crystal Reports and core report design concepts

Objectives: You will learn to understand the BusinessObjects Enterprise interface and architecture, plan content, plan application security, create and secure folders, users and groups, publish and configure content, schedule reports and objects.
